The women the dog belonged to was too busy eating her "Swiss" cheese to stop the dog after it bit me once and let it bite my other ankle harder. And she continued to take the smallest bites possible of her Swiss cheese after I ran away from her property. What is the world coming to? What ever happened to the motto "Dog attacks are more important than cheese"? I used to be an avid fan of this motto. Hell I would put cheese down for a lot of things, not just dog attacks, things like: American Idol, a phone call, Mr. Frosty, and a trip to Best Buy. But this woman wasn’t having it. Her cheese was vital to her being. It was as if cheese kept her heart from stopping. She must constantly eat cheese to stay alive, and to save money she just takes tiny bites so she won't run out as quickly. If there was a world record for the slowest cheese eater she would win. No seriously, the whole time I was talking to her she was eating the cheese and it seemed as though she had more in her hand as I was leaving as from when I got there. Damn Swiss.

My parents got a packet in the mail the other day from the county, Burlington County, that had a big yellow sign that said "SHELTERING IN PLACE" and a booklet of what to do in case of a natural or man made disaster. My mom started reading it out loud to me. Explaining how I must get duct tape and put it in my car now, because in case of a biological or chemical invasion one must duct tape the vents in the car. She then started complaining how we only received one yellow "SHELTERING IN PLACE" sign and how we need to make more (one for every car). I wonder if Burlington County was the only county in New Jersey that got a "disaster packet" or if all of New Jersey is not prepared to protect itself from those damn terrorists and that damn global warming.

I took my dad (a global warming skeptic) to see An Inconvenient Truth and he spent all today researching global warming on the net. He is still not convinced there is a correlation between carbon dioxide and temperature, and that 2005 was the hottest year on record. I am lucky my mom was the one home when I canvassed my house. The first line of the wrap, "2005 was the hottest year on record" my dad would have slammed the door in my face. But the movie did touch him, he is starting to see the light it’s just a little foggy, but he'll get there. Just one more brain washing session then he'll be on our side.

I bought the first season of The Great Adventures of Pete and Pete and I love it. It is the wittiest show I think ever made. It is wittier than The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Simpson’s combined. Yeah I said it. I mean come on, Pete’s mom has a medal plate in her head, Pete and Pete have a personal super hero that wears red and blue striped spandex that acts as flaming as Richard Simmons on a cruse ship, and sly evil villains like, Endless Mike, Open Face and the International Adult Conspiracy. I am just kicking myself I didn’t buy season two. I guess I have to make another trip to best buy.

Waste of Paint

I have been trying to figure out what I am going to do this summer, and it has not been very successful. For a while I was going to move into Cameron's apartment for the summer with TJ, and I was going to canvass again. After I told Charles to send me to Medford Lakes so I could tear it up, and be in charge of all the cool towns. I was thinking about canvassing again because I haven’t had time or really the energy to look for another job, and I don’t want to end up working at The Gap. Plus all my super cool friends are deciding not to come home this summer so just spending the summer doing nothing doesn't seem appealing. But living in New Jersey again and canvassing seems undesirable to me because my parents get in the way and it is just a lot of driving. I love driving but my focus can only take so much. TJ though may not be able to live with me, and I don’t have anyone else to room with. And really no one beats TJ. TJ is key.

What I love about TJ:

The way he makes me smile as soon as I see him, and make a bad day turn good.

The fact I sometimes have semi erotic dreams about him, but would never act on it.

The poker metaphors we use concerning my interpersonal relationships.

How he thinks I am sweet and innocent, and fears sometimes he corrupts me.

How you can never predict what ridiculous things he will say next.

How he surprises me with cute puppies that I can cuddle with, (That was only once, but it was seriously the best day ever)

Really I just can’t put into words how awesome TJ is. I hope he can get out of his "pickle" and be able to live with me this summer. We were going to have a roof garden and have good times watching Wonder Boys and Project Runway and go on weekend excursions to the beach to swim in the ocean. Because really the ocean is key. I only swam in the ocean once last summer. There is nothing better then having salty ocean hair, and acting like a little kid by building sand castles and playing "wave" games. I don’t know if TJ is into those things though, he is probably into the picking up as many girls as he can game. But that’s what makes him TJ and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I have been totally overwhelmed with the amount of school work I have, so that is why my blog entries have been few, and maybe lacking in quality. It will pick up after things settle down in a few weeks I promise.

Oh and I'm serious as cancer when I say rhythm is a dancer.

Falling for You

This weekend I found a new love for Michael Douglas. Of course I have been a fan of a few of his movies in the past, especially Wonder Boys, but I think I was in too much of a Toby and Robert Downey Jr. kick to notice the appeal of Michael, which is odd because I am known to crush on all my male professors. I watched Fatal Attraction, and it was all over. Now I am addicted to Michael I am planning to make time to watch all his movies. The next one on my list is A perfect Murder, I hear its not the best, but I like Gwyneth.

Speaking of Gwyneth, she had another child, a boy this time, Moses. Apple and Moses. I wonder when the children are a little older Moses and Apple will get into tifts, because he is the savoir of the Israelite slaves, while she is merely the sin that drove Adam and Eve away from the Garden of Eden. I hope they have twin boys next and name them, Cain and Joseph.

Speaking of The Bible, while I was home a few weeks ago I came across this book I had received from my church when I got confirmed, titled WWJD Today?: Daily Time with Jesus. It is extremely evangelical and ridiculous. I especially took interest in the sections on sex and marriage, unfortunately they did not address the gay issue, which shocked me, but maybe in the next addition they will. This section is titled Mind Control. At the top there is a little story about boys sitting around watching "beach bunnies" and drooling over the girls and wishing they were their life guards, but the next day the boys sign a pledge about abstinence. This is what Jesus has to say:

Jesus has some strong words here. Remember in Yesterday's devotion how it was just as bad to hate someone as it was to kill them? Well, today we find out that is just as bad to lust for someone as it is to have sex with them. Just window-shopping can get you arrested for shop lifting.

Let's define lust...Lust is what happens when you use your mind to cross those boundaries that you don’t cross with your body. Lust occurs when you have the chance to turn away from a mind-driven fantasy and you entertain it instead.

Guys, if you deliberately let your eyes "feast" on another woman, whether it be reality or a TV show or a music video or a magazine (even if they have some clothes on), you are lusting. It’s one thing to be temped and to fight. It's another thing to say there's nothing wrong with looking as long as you don’t touch. Jesus said just the opposite. Ladies, you can be guilty too. Don’t dress in a way that leaves little to the imagination –you’re giving away your body to their eyes. Save that for your husband. And don’t get caught up going too far with a guy in your brain either.

So remember Johnny that you must control your mind to fight these urges, use doublethink it will help you not sin and get to heaven.

My mom bought me bubbles for Easter that comes in a no spill container. Basically my mom is awesome.

The Good Life

The hardest part about growing up is having it be less and less socially acceptable (unless you have children, but who wants that) to play games such as, Capture the Flag, Lazer Tag, Jail Break, Assassin. But really the older you get, the more fun these games become. When you are younger you don't have the brain power, nor the attention span to come up with elaborate plots against your enemy, or remember to bring your camo outfits.

My High School did have a school wide Assassin game, but only "boys" could play, which was extremely sexist, girls can be damn good assassins, and look extremely sexy doing it. Their assassin game seemed really awesome. You had to pay 10$ to play, and the winning team got a prize of 500$. They were really hard core about it too. There was breaking and entering, stalking, the whole nine. Needless to say the cops and the high school administration shut down the game because they are Nazi's. I feel as though if they had girls playing it wouldn’t have gotten out of hand, because girls are more sensible about doing things such as not breaking and entering in a house you know the parents are going to call the police, and they have better reasoning abilities with school administrators. And again, could use their sex appeal to get out of trouble.

I have been in the mood the last...10 min...to play an awesome game like that. Get a group of people together and have a hard core game of Capture the Flag, Salute Your Shorts style, or on a more "organized fun" game of Lazer Tag equipped with 80's decor. Or to put a little twist onto Capture the Flag, instead of having it in the wilderness with trees, we could play it in the city. Of course there would have to be boundaries not the WHOLE city, say just a 2 mile radius around Washington sq. Park. Or in Philly a 2 mile radius around City Hall, it would put a really interesting and fun twist to the game. (of course team colors would need to be involved) I am totally serious though. This summer it has to happen. Against my wishes my parents put a mouse trap back there. The kind that snap the neck and they die a slow painful death. I stopped speaking to them for a couple hours because of it. Anyway, the next day, after I had stumbled out of my perfect bed, my mother started questioning me, on where I had put the mouse trap. Confused, I explained to her how I did not know what she was talking about. Apparently, when my mother checked on the trap that morning, it was gone. The trap disappeared, and there was no sign of struggle. Who took the mouse trap? Did the mouse carry it? And throw it in the trash? Did my dog realize that, mouse or not, animal suffering is bad, and he threw it away? Was this mouse the next messiah, and God took the mouse trap away to save its life? My parents of course thought I took it. I tried to tell them I didn’t, but they don’t believe me. Still to this day, they believe I took it, and am lying to them. Unless I slept walk, and took it without me realizing, or I have Multiple personality disorder, I didn’t take it. If you or anyone you know can solve this unsolved mystery please contact me and tell me your story.

I bought a falafel mix, in a box. It’s quite good. I mean it’s not GREAT but it’s good. The tahini sauce I bought however, not at all worthy to be next to falafel. I wonder if I could go to Mamoun's and ask for some of theirs in bulk.

I ate a whole chocolate bar today, it’s not like me. I never eat chocolate. It does have 2 grams of protein though. And 2% iron.

The door to my room doesn’t lock anymore, the apartment building installed lockless door knobs to every room that has access to the fire escape, so my suite mate can get out if there is a fire. It is a good thing that neither Tena nor I are getting any, because it would be kind of awkward. I suppose we’d have to work some sort of system with post-its saying like "I am having sex do not come in" and hope it gets read.

I got seeds from J-Crew. Yes, I shop at J-Crew. And I planted them. In a pot. On the window sill. They are growing so nicely!! There are a lot of little green sprouts everywhere, it is very exciting. I sit by the window watching them. They make me feel warm inside. Maybe I should open a plant nursery. Maybe that should be my career.

Incomplete

So I have been using Internet Explorer since I was very small. Since Al Gore invented the internet small. But starting early yesterday, my Internet Explorer decided to stop working; it would close 1 min after I opened it. So I have been using FireFox.

I despise FireFox. It has this thing, where if you have two separate windows open, and you try to close one, it closes both. And since I’m not used to it, I don’t press the abort button of closing when it tries to warn me, or know where it is located for that matter.

I was writing this awesome entry about Mr. Courtney, and Tena looking like a man, you know quality Emily Sullivan blogness, when I got distracted, of course, and start looking at other things online, and when I go to close it, the blogger window closes as well, even though when the warning thing came up I pressed cancel. Apparently the abort button on FireFox is “OK”.

So you kiddos are going to have to wait for the other stories at a later date.

And we loose an hour this weekend. I don’t have time to loose an hour this weekend. I wish I lived in Arizona so I wouldn’t have to worry about such things, and then in November live in Ohio so my vote counts.

On My Way

I received the greatest email today from my college the subject was marked in all caps mind you:

SECURITY ADVISORY

I was thinking that this must just be something lame about how they added some cool new security device or that security is taking a day off or something, but I was pleasantly surprised to hear about Old Mr. Tomas Courtney.

I am writing to tell you about an individual, Mr. Thomas Courtney, who
came on our campus on Monday and proceeded to give out literature which
students found offensive. In the literature, he describes himself as an
anti-feminist and an anti-lesbian. This is not the first time we have
encountered Mr. Courtney. Way back in October and November of 1991,
Mr. Courtney was ejected from the campus for similar activities. He is
a white male, approximately 5'9", 150 lbs in his early 60's with white
hair. Mr. Courtney was on a bicycle today and has been seen in the past
biking in the area.

The college has sent Mr. Courtney a letter stating that he will be
arrested if he comes onto the campus again. I have also alerted our
local police captain about his reoccurrence on campus today. However,
Mr. Courtney does have a right to be on public streets. If you see him
on campus, please contact security immediately. Also call security if
you see him on public property near the college and you do not see a
security officer nearby.

If Mr. Courtney hands you literature or makes statements you find
offensive, I ask that you not engage him in conversation, but rather
just walk away from him. Men like Mr. Courtney thrive on confrontation.
If he receives little or no attention, his desire to return to campus
will decrease.

My favorite parts are about him being 60, and riding a bike. I hope it’s a red bike with a banana seat, cause that would make him that much more classy especially with a last name like Courtney. Also the part about us not talking to him, because people like Tomas "thrive on confrontation" sounds like someone else I know... those people are always fun.

I also am extremely lame and joined myspace. Most of the stuff on my profile however is just me being facetious, so don't take me seriously when I say I'm looking for my future spouse, or that I'm a contract killer. I saw Tena for there minutes so far, and already wanted to punch her in the face. It is going to be a long one and a half months. What is going to make it longer is the ridiculous amount of work I am going to have to do. If I add together the amount of papers I need to write it is 85+ pages in all. In one and a half months. Yeah I wont be sleeping any time soon.

Spring break was an adventure. Equipped with drunken pirates, tobacco industry lobbyists, boggle, and the occasional burned out/extremely zealous diner waitresses. It was also a time to re-establish my love for Television. New shows that grabbed my attention:

8th and Ocean: It is a new show on MTV about this cluster of male and female models represented on the most popular modeling agency in South Beach Florida. They have these two twins on the show. The one is a better model, the other is the black sheep with bad acne bitter about her sisters success and struggling to find her own modeling niche. This other girl on the show Britt, who is now my favorite, is from the deep south (but doesn't look like a blonde cow girl, she looks like a brunette European) who is in love with Jesus. She went on this one photo shoot, and almost died when they told her to take her bra off. She also told the story of her auditioning for a Herbal Essences commercial, and how she had trouble making that "noise" they make. Really it's a great show, better then America's Next Top Model. Bold statement I know, but true.

Parental Control: Also a new show on MTV, a new dating show that totally blows the others out of the water. Parents unhappy with their sons/daughters current "squeeze" find two other young kids to hopefully take their place. At the end of the day the son/daughter must choose between one of their new dates, or stay with their current boy/girlfriend. Of course being just a spectator in these peoples love lives you love the ending when those nice girls dump their mean boyfriends, for someone they barely know. This one episode this guy choose to leave his girlfriend for another girl, and that other girl after he made his decision said. "No thank you" and dumped him. So this poor guy was left with no one. Thanks mom and dad. Thanks.

OZ: This is not a new show, and I don't think they make any new episodes, but you can still get it on HBO Demand. It has most of the actors from Law and Order SVU trapped in Oswald prison. There are naked men, crazy female guards, corruption, and betrayal. Basically the formula for a great show.

Big Love: A new series on HBO about a polygamous family in Utah. The main character played by Bill Paxton, has male impotence and must take viagra several times a day to keep his three wives satisfied. With that and the obvious complications of having a polygamous lifestyle it makes for great entertainment, and the security of knowing your life isn't THAT fucked up so all is good. But then again at least they get some (even if it's from a chemically induced erection and have to hear the moaning of other girls enjoying that same erection a little later in the day).

I also got a hair cut, it looks extremely cute (especially with headbands), I like it a lot. I forgot my camera at home so I cant show you.

I tried to eat dinner at Applebees for the first time today, but everything on their menu has meat in it. They don't even have a dry gross veggie burger to bite into. So I suppose I never will eat there. Especially the second or third one you make.

Now that I mastered the art of making perfect pancakes I am one step closer to becoming an ideal housewife. The check list being:

Being a laundry fiend X

Baking good brownies X

Washing dishes X

vacuuming X

Giving good head X

Making a delicious pot roast _

Perfecting pancakes X

Making awesome bagged lunches _

scrubbing the bathroom _

So I got most of that down. As soon as I get over my vegetarianism I can master the pot roast. As soon as I get my sexy cleaning outfit, I can scrub the bathroom without haste. I never made a bagged lunch ( my daddie always made mine for me, including in high school) but I am sure its something that I would be great at. It is all about creativity and surprise. Which I mean lets face it, am great at. I am well on my way to be a great housewife, I just need to make sure I buy a razor before I get married then I am all set! Laura Bush will be so proud!

I am going home tomorrow for spring break after I see Drew in the city for some "coffee" (I put coffee in quotes because I don't like coffee, I'll probably have tea or a little pastry). My spring break is Two Weeks long. I am very excited about that. But I most likely will not be updating my blog while I'm home because my dads computer is slow and makes me frustrated. But don't go crying yourself to sleep, because I will be back with loads more blog excitement.

Displaced

I am really into oatmeal. Instant oatmeal. Quaker oatmeal (its much more peaceful then other oatmeal's). Having just one packet though, is not enough, I have to eat two at a time. I have a big stomach. I go through phases of foods, this summer it was bananas (only if they were ripe), for a while it has been macaroni and cheese, and now it's oatmeal. Since I just started eating oatmeal this year, I have 19 years to make up for lost time. I should probably start eating 4 at a time to catch up.

I was talking to this mega cute girl, Emma, she is way too cool for school, when I remembered my "dead journal" from high school (very teenage angst, and ridiculous), it is like live journal only lamer. This is my favorite passage I saw as skimming:

"I think it would be really cool if I was a snake..Cause you can unhatch
your jaw..And swallow things..Like rabbits..And stuff..And you'd have really
cool fangs..And shed your scales..And..Slither around..It would be spell
boudning."

The best part about reading that passage is that a few days ago I thought about how cool it is snakes can unlatch their jaw. Some things never change.

I was doing research for my conference project, the politics of AIDS in South Africa, when I learned that the President of South Africa does not believe that HIV causes AIDS. With that and having our president, the 8th wonder of the world George W. Bush, believing that abstinence only and "being faithful" is the answer to everything, no wonder millions of people are suffering. It really breaks my heart a million times over.

It is times like these that make me wish I had a hair brush. When I get stressed/sad it makes me feel better to brush doll's hair. Or in my case, my little pony. But I don't own a hair brush and the one I had for my little pony got lost. My little pony though is multi purposeful. It has a magnet on its front right leg. So if I drop my keys on the floor, or staples get thrown about, I can use it to pick them up. Those creators were really thinking when they designed that. They should get a cookie.

Jesus Christ Superstar

If you missed the fact that Sarah Lawrence dose not have TV, let me remind you. Sarah Lawrence does not allow you to install cable, and the reception is bad so you can barely get fox news. Me being a complete TV whore, was taken aback by this, I have just started to learn to live without TV, just in time for spring break where I can watch as much TV as my little heart desires (if only I didn't have ridiculous amounts of work to do). So as soon as I learn to live without TV, I get it back, and have to do the whole cycle over again.

My parents though, like me too much, and record all the shows I like to watch on DVD's and send them to me so I can watch them on my computer. So I do get to see Grey's Anatomy, and Project Runway, and the Office. But I am a week behind the 'real world' so if you know who won project runway don't tell me! I have been having trouble lately, because my computer is being a bitch and it wouldn't play the valentines day episode of The Office, or the Grey's Anatomy where George O'Maley tells Meredith he loves her, then she sleeps with him, and then she will proceed to break his heart. I could go on for hours about Grey's Anatomy, maybe I will save that for another day. If you do not watch that show, really you should. It is fantastic.

The most recent shipment of TV in a Manila envelope, my mom wrote me this note:

Yeah she's a 2nd grade teacher so she has all that awesome stationary. I personally like her scratch and sniff smile face stickers. They are the best.

My Lit. Professor is killing my soul. She keeps assigning these books that are full of fathers raping daughters, young girls forced into prostitution, young girls forced to marry old creepy men that tell her to go into a dark cellar to play with "toys". It lowers my morale. A lot. Can we please just read a book that is warm and fuzzy with nice consensual sex that doesn't make you feel guilty for thinking S&M is hot. These books make you want to keep your legs closed (unless its nice missionary style sex with someone who buys you flowers and chocolates and will cuddle with you afterward for hours), maybe that's why she's having us read them. Or maybe its because she just hates men. I just can not wait until spring break when I can finally take the time to finish the Al Franken book I started what seems like ages ago, and have time to watch Disney movies to gain my innocence back.

Kiss the Devil

I was on facebook the other day. If you are a member of facebook then you know that on the opening page there is usually some facebook feature it wants you to check out. Well there is this feature "rate your valentine" (the fact that Valentines day was weeks ago doesn't seem to matter) its just like pictures of people, and you rate it; 1 being lame or 5 being hot. I did this for a little, and I thought it was silly cause the highest rating I saw was like a 3.6 and it was a picture of a puppy. A westie puppy actually, I used to have one but he grew up (now he is a complete bitch and has this weird possession/controlling thing with socks) As a puppy they are pretty damn cute. So that got me remembering good ole' HotOrNot.com.

I decided for a change of pace to put my picture up there, you know it wasn't the greatest picture, but I thought it was cute! Well 200 people voted and I am a 5.2. out of ten. I thought I was at least a 7 at least, but oh well.

As I was going through the different people on there I seemed to notice a pattern. Most of the girls get low scores between a 4 and 6. Unless of course they are showing some cleavage or some leg action or both, even if their face is the ugliest thing you ever saw. So I am going to do an anthropological study. I am going to get a picture and look "innocent" not wearing revealing clothes or giving a look like I want sex, but make sure I still look pretty. Very pretty. And see what my rateing will end up. Then I am going to take a picture where I am wearing maybe a short skirt and a slutty top, or just a bra, but try and make my face look ugly (if that is possible). Maybe I'll throw in there me sucking a lollipop pop in an erotic way, who knows. I will see if my hypothesis is correct. That being that the people who go to HotOrNot.com (whether that being egotistical males, old horny men, angry youth, 12 year old boys, business women, Dick Chaney and his quail, whoever) judge a girl not on her face, eyes, or smile, but on her ability to sell sex. Which I mean, what else can one expect from such a superficial site? Expecting at least Emily Sullivan will get a 7 thats what.

If Winter Ends

The last week I have been noticing that I seem to collect feathers on my sweaters. It seems as though everyday in class I look at my arm and there is another little white feather, and naturally I pull it off, like any sane person would if they had a white feather stuck to their shirt. Then later in the day I realize, that there is another feather on me. I don't understand it. It's not normal at all. I mean I do have a feather pillow that has those little white feathers that you see in the movies when girls in their underwear are having pillow fights in their bra and panties. But I don't sleep with my sweaters on. I don't have pillow fights wearing more than the stereotypical pillow fight attire. Now that I've been noticing, I have'nt gone a day without one, really I might start to get a reputation here or something. You know those crazy hippies and their exaggeration. They are tiny feathers, so it might not be noticeable unless your looking for them. But still! Its weird!

My suite mate went to Richard Bright's memorial service on Saturday. She is friends with this woman who was great friends with Richard and put her in charge of protecting the memorial from the little kids and being an usher. She came back all excited that she go to see Al Pachino eat, and look at all the boys she is in love with from Oz and Law and order SVU. She becomes more and more my hero everyday.

Little kids are everywhere on my campus. Screaming, running, yelling, doing what little kids do. There is a day care center on our campus that a lot of the kids work at, to study them, and do experiments on them. Seriously. It's still something that I haven't gotten used to, almost walking into several mischievous kids as while going to class. I did see this one little girl once, and was extremely jealous of her footwear. She was wearing Dorothy red ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz, with rainbow toe socks. Bad choice of sock with the shoe, I thought, too much color, it took away from the shoe. Separately, both items are must haves. I never had either. I always wanted Dorothy slippers when I was younger, but alas I was never granded my wish. In 6th grade I desperately wanted toe socks, but again I have never put a pair on my oh so adorable feet. If that little girl wasn't with her mom and two brothers, and had my shoe size, I probably would have mugged her.

I had to stay up all night reading this awful book, Brothers and Keepers by John Edgar Wiedman. I am just not into the whole prison sense, and the whole, talking openly about ones qualms of writing. If I cared about your dilemmas while writing the novel, I'd watch the making of in the special features section. I had read a part of that book for another class at Northeastern my Freshman year, and I didn't like it then either. I couldn't get my professors voice out of my head the whole time I was reading it too. He was the one that gave me that look, and flirted with me via email. It was an interesting night remembering those things. I still think about what would have happened if I returned the look, and didn't get uncomfortable toward it. I was going to see him before I left Northeastern to come to Sarah Lawrence but he wasn't in the library where he said he would be. Though I do want to do a professor, I don't think he would have been a good one, he wasn't old enough, or have enough of that power.

Train Under Water

I just finished watching season one of Felicity on DVD. (I didn't watch the entire season today, I have been for a few weeks now)

JJ Abrams, the creator and writer of Felicity, went to Sarah Lawrence College, which is where I am. Throughout the season you can tell that he barrowed from his own college experience in writing felicity, which makes sense. Things that I didn't pick up on and didn't understand when I went to Northeastern, now I do. Just the way the seminar that Felicity is in is laid out, and the lingo they use in the class is very Sarah Lawrence esk. And there was this awesome Barbara Walters reference which made me laugh because Barbara Walters went to Sarah Lawrence. Ok maybe I'm making nothing into something but it makes sense that a little bit of SLC left an imprint on him.

But Felicity, I hate her. Not as much as I hate Ben, but a close second. Maybe I am biased because for some weird reason Ben reminds me a little of my crazy ex-boyfriend. He has some of the same tendencies (can't say no when girls hit on him, likes to get into fights, has an ego problem..) I think I just get too involved with TV and personalize everything to relate to my life. Only when its good TV, I don't do that with shows like the O.C. or Seventh Heaven (yes I watch them).

So Noel Great guy, love him to death, it's definitely the smile and the looks he gives to Felicity, that makes me melt. He is madly in love with Felicity, and I want him to be happy! And I know I KNOW that Felicity would be happy forever if she was with him. (I mean who wouldn't?)

Noel asks her to go to Berlin with him for two weeks...BERLIN. Come on now. Seriously who says no to go to Berlin with a great guy for two weeks? WHO?! Felicity she does. BECAUSE Ben is getting all jealous and all, "Oh Felicity doesn't pay attention to me anymore, I want to chase her, and get my image of being the guy every girl falls for back, because I love myself too much." So he breaks up with Felicity's best friend Julie and starts trying to seduce Felicity. And of course she falls for it, cause she's weak and dumb. She decides to break Noel's heart and betray her best friend to go cross country in a car with Ben. UGH she makes me so mad. I almost had to turn it off. But I had to finish watching it, because maybe, maybe, one of these times she will make the right decision.

I got my first papers that I wrote for Sarah Lawrence back today. My professors said they were really good. I have to work on grammar of course, (if you haven't noticed) but my one teacher was all, its good...No..Its very good. She is really intimidating, and I never wrote a lit paper before so it made me feel good about myself. Which is good because I was starting to get stressed out thinking I didn't have what it takes...But apparently I do!

Revolution 1

Forget about being a senator, saving the environment, relieving Africa of AIDS and winning a Nobel prize for debunking "exploitive capitalism". My new goal in life that I will put all my energy and time into from now on is curling. Yes curling.

It is like shuffleboard but only with not so many old people, and more dangerous. Ice can be very slippery, and I am sure that there have been some accidents with tripping while doing the brooming motions. One might watch curling and say, oh that looks like a walk in the park, I could do that with my eyes closed. I am sorry my friend you would be sadly sadly mistaken. Curling takes stamina, concentration, trust, a good knowledge of physics, (maybe that's why the Asians are really good at it) and dedication. Yes dedication is huge. While your friends are out with Puff the Magic Dragon, you are inside sweeping ice and pushing stones. Curling is like New Jersey, only the strong survive. (but now that New Jersey has less soot pollution, the moderately strong can survive too). If you think you have what it takes to join my curling team, let me know.

If you aren't that serious about curling and just want to have a good time...There is this totally awesome interactive website about curling you can waste hours with... just click here!

What came to a close second to my new goal in life, was writing for magazines such as In touch (my roommates favorite), People, or any other tabloid celebrity magazine. How relaxing it must be to have your biggest worry, what will happen to Jennifer and Ben? Will Angelina let Jennifer see the baby? It will just be a load off not having to worry about your own life. I also have a special talent for this type of thing, predicting what celebrity story will be hot next and being nosey. I was in California this past summer, when I saw Britney crying on the phone, I heard her saying that she was no longer sure if her and her prince charming Kevin will be able to stay together after the baby arrives. I know crazy! But I swear I saw that whoooollleee thing coming. If there was a magazine like that for Degrassi...Game Over. I'd so kick that magazines ass!

A Poetic Retelling of an unfortunate Seduction

Emily's list of things that should be obliterated from earth:
(in no particular order)

sharing a room

war

unripe bananas

really bad a capella music that is worse then nails on a chalkboard

George W. Anyway my roommate ridiculous driver, road rage hard core, hard core. It kinda reminded me of those movies you watch in health class with the really bad acting when the guy like gets out of the car and starts being all "You cut me off!" and starts hitting the car with his nine iron. She would honk at a slow drivers at a traffic light if they are going through the green light to slow, then she speeds around them and goes like 50 around these people in like a 25 mph zone and almost its someone else and blames it on them. Very intense for me. Next time I'll think twice before getting in her death focus. (My focus is way cooler than hers btw, hers isn't having a fun day)

This is a picture of my wall. I am quite pleased with it. I took all my sweaters to the dry cleaners in Yonkers one day and when I got all my clothes back there was all this pretty pink tissue paper. I was going to save it for if I was going to make valentines for people (which I did do with regular paper, but I didn't have any stamps so I never sent them) but I decided to use it on my wall. I think The Man in Black looks mighty sexy against a pink background. I have two of my paintings up there too which makes me smile. They are the two I actually like. Though I am working on this one now that when its done probably will be totally awesome. Of course not as fantastic as Drews artwork, but awesome none the less.

These are my roommates decorations... Apparently it's still Halloween, who knew?

I was at the other cafeteria yesterday called "the health food bar" its all organic and vegetarian, very good food. It works in like a "price" system of some sort and you get 8 dollars for dinner on your meal plan. I got some food and I thought it was a lot, but the cute old woman at the cash register told me that I had money left over and to go get some cookies, so I got some cookies (extremely good cookies, the best I've had in a while) and then she's like "No, No, you need some fruit too, Take Two! You can eat them tomorrow!" she wouldn't let me take no for answer, then she told me how she was my second mother and that she will take care of me here and that ought not worry. I love her. She is my favorite.

I just love people who push food on you, my family likes to starve me. If they get take out they don't ask me what I want. My mom is afraid of things that don't have meat in it, so she wont really make me anything but macaroni and cheese and pasta. My extended family is even worse. They eat 'dinner' early too at like 3, and don't plan on people getting hungry at 8.

Whenever I am in a situation where food is pushed on me it makes my heart smile. I loved people when I canvassed that would give me bananas and pumpkin bread, they were the best. Hopefully I will marry into a family that likes to give me food so I don't slowly die inside.

Not About Love

Oh the New York Times and their similes. Because the track of this storm was relatively far offshore, it did not pack the wallop of wet warm ocean air that northeasters can, so the snow was dry and fluffy. Very, very fluffy. Like a Persian cat in a roomful of hair dryers.

Since this is Valentines Day I thought I would share the best compliment/pick up line I have ever recived hands down: "I really like your nails, you could like totally cut someone's face with those."

This year my Valentine is Karl Marx. Karl and I get along great. He is always there when I need him, he always answers when I call. The way he describes how Germans are unintelligent, and how private property induces slavery, and the bourgeoisiesi (ohh the bourgeoisiesi how we loathe thee) makes me so hot. Karl really knows how to please a woman. I really don't think I could ask for a better Valentine..Wellll maybe George Orwell, but don't tell Karl that..Hehe gets very jealous.... He isn't open to the threesome thing you'd think a guy that was all about no boundaries wouldn't be so up tight about that kinda stuff. Oh well.

Ring of Fire

Remember in Titanic how shipmates were running through the halls banging on the doors screaming put you life jackets on? Well the same thing happens when your apartment building is on fire and the alarm isn't going off. Everyone like in Titanic was confused, in disbelief, "Oh our building couldn't be on fire, this is just a drill" "Noo Titanic is unsinkable! It isn't sinking!" But as soon as that water comes seeping through the doorways, that smoke coming out of the windows with the orange blaze you begin to think...Why didn't I put my shoes on?

I fortunately did put my shoes on, being that I have wool clogs (very easy to slip on in quick situations). Fortunately for my roommate she remembered to grab her rat and put it in her pocket to protect it from the flames. Fortunately for my Asian (my suite mate that slept with her highschool English teacher) has a thing for fireman, and was getting wet while watching our apartment building burning.

It was really just isolated flames on the 6th floor, but I am sure by this time tomorrow it will be known as the whole left side of Hill house in 10 feet flames, with half the residents still inside.

Oh the things that go on in Yonkers New York.

Waltz #2

So I have been thinking for a while to start a blog to quench those yearnings to write something witty about certain things in politics, books, things that happen on the street outside my window....

I will try my best to not let it turn into post-teenage angst of some sort, though at times I am certain it will be me complaining about my roommate--more on that later. Hopefully it will have a high enough entertainment value that it will brighten up one's day when they see that I have updated.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am a big fan of natural light during the day, especially when it is snows, it gives a room with white walls a certain look that just makes your eyes and heart smile with warmth. My roommate..Not so much. She leaves her blind down all day, (not all the way down..Just enough to make the light from outside not get in, but be highly annoying at night) and even though my side of the room has this wonderful natural light she comes in and turns on her lamp, and ruins RUINs that warm and fuzzy feeling that one needs to survive the day in a ridiculous liberal arts school where TV is no where to be found. It must be a Pittsburgh thing, liking artificial 'yellow' light; my professor from Pittsburgh (who ironically looks like he would be related to my roommate, and they have the same personality sort of, and both at one point wanted to do me) wore yellow tinted glasses. Yeah, it must be a Pittsburgh thing.

Dick Cheney shot his friend thinking he was a quail.

My classroom this morning was freezing and since I wasn't wearing my wool clogs because it was snowy, my feet were cold; I couldn't concentrate. Good thing it was just a class about how to edit titles for papers. Anyway, all I wanted after class was a banana. I go to the "Pub" a type of cafeteria on campus. All the bananas there looked kinda...Well...Not that good, but I picked a couple that would do, but APPARENTLY the meal plan doesn't start until 11 or something, and it was like 1030, so I couldn't get the banana, I suppose ill just eat a jar of peanut butter with a spoon.

I miss playing nintendo
